Baccarat is the simplest table game in the casino because you make exactly one decision: bet Player, Banker or Tie. The dealer does everything else. Each side receives two cards. Card values: aces count 1, twos through nines count face value, tens and picture cards count 0 — and only the last digit of the total matters, so 7+8 = 15 = 5. If either side's first two cards total 8 or 9 (a "natural"), the hand ends immediately.
Otherwise the drawing rules take over, and they are fixed — no choices, no skill: the Player draws a third card on totals 0-5 and stands on 6-7. The Banker then follows the famous tableau: it always draws on 0-2, and on 3-6 it draws or stands depending on the value of the Player's third card. Whoever ends closest to 9 wins. Player wins pay 1:1, Banker wins pay 0.95:1 (the 5% commission), and Ties pay 8:1 while pushing Player and Banker bets.
